Windhorst commented that for a period, the Bulls had approximately 75 shareholders, a significant number of whom were elderly, aged 75 or older. Each year, these individuals were presented with substantial dividend checks, and with cash flowing in consistently, it was a challenge to convince them of any issues within the team. When suggestions were made regarding improvements, such as paying luxury taxes, they would question the necessity of such taxes. Furthermore, they would also inquire about the owner's practice of using profits to support the Chicago White Sox, a MLB team. The problem, therefore, was not solely attributed to the team's principal owner, Jerry Reinsdorf, but also to the numerous minor shareholders who, unfortunately, some have passed away.
